What is a Care assignment?
Care assignments allow Sage users to see the residents they’re caring for on the Today page. Care assignments help focus information in Sage to only what’s top of mind for caregivers, helping care staff stay organized and accountable throughout their shift.
After logging in , care staff can select the residents they’re caring for, adding them to their Care Assignment in the Sage app. Selected residents will appear on the Today page, creating a shortcut to view resident profiles and log care.
How do I add a resident to my Care assignment?
From the Today page
- Look for the Care Assignment section on the Today page.
- Tap on "Add Residents"

Select the residents you’re taking care of today.
- Tip: Use filters and the search bar to quickly find residents
- Tap "Save" on the top-right

Back on the Today page, you'll see the residents you selected in the Care Assignment section.
- Tap on each resident photo to easily view the resident profile and log care
From the Residents page
- Navigate to the "Residents" tab on the bottom bar.
- Filter or search for a resident
- Tap the resident's name

Tap "Add Resident to your care assignment"
- Note: This option will only appear for Assisted Living and Memory Care residents.
- If the resident is already added to your Care assignment, you can select "Remove resident from your care assignment"
How do I edit my Care Assignment?
- Tap "Edit" in the Care Assignment section on the Today page.
- You’ll be navigated to the Care Assignment page, where you can add additional residents or remove residents from your care assignment.
- To remove all residents from your Care assignment, tap on "Clear All" When you’re done with your edits, tap "Save."
Can care staff see each others’ Care assignments?
No, care staff can only view their own care assignments in Sage.
