Adding or removing a staff member from a user group

In Sage, team members are assigned to user groups that define their access and communication settings. Assigning a team member to the correct group is vital to ensure they have the access they need in their role. Follow these steps when adding or editing group membership.

Note in order to add or remove a staff member the user must have the following permissions;

  1. In the Management Group

 

Viewing Groups

  1. Find and tap on the Team section at the bottom of the screen

  2. Select the Groups tab to view all available groups

  3. Note the team member totals listed for each group

  4. Tap on a group to view current team members assigned to that group

Adding Team Members to Group

Team members must be a Group Admin or a Management Admin to edit group membership

  1. Tap on the group you want to add a team member to

  2. Find and tap on the Add Member bubble at the bottom right of this screen

  3. Select the desired team members from the list and press Select to grant membership access.

  4. Note if the team member is a new hire, they must be added to Sage by a Management Admin before they can be added to any groups.

Assigning Group Admins

Group Admins have the ability to add and remove team members from their group. You must be a Group Admin or a Management Admin to add a new Admin member. 

  1. Tap on the group you want to assign a group admin to.

  2. Find the name of the group member you want to make an admin.

  3. Tap on their name and select Make Group Admin from the pop up window.

Group Tasking

Groups of team members can be assigned tasks to complete. Any team member within that group can pick up or claim and resolve tasks assigned to them. Note that team members that are not in a specified group will be unable to view tasks for that group.

  1. Navigate to the Tasks section.

  2. Tap the Add Task bubble at the bottom right of the screen.

  3. Create the desired task.

  4. Select the Task assigned to drop down and select the groups you wish to assign the task to.

  5. Choose a timeframe for your task.

  6. Tap Add Task at the bottom of the screen to complete the task assignment.
